Jago Solo Biography

Previously a musician, judo player and outdoor pursuits enthusiast, Jago switched his attention to juggling arts in 1991. A creative performer, Jago specialises in music-choreographed, dance-based juggling and has developed a reputation as one of the UK's leading contact jugglers.

After early performances with 'The Fairly Famous Family' and 'Astral Circus', Jago founded Fullmoon Performers in 2002, a circus arts company dedicated to combining live music and multi-person juggling choreography. In 2004 Jago began working with Canadian juggler Ryan Mellors creating the object manipulation show 'Anomalies'. In 2005 he directed and appeared in the contact juggling DVD ‘In Isolation’. In 2006 Jago was cast in the theatre show ‘Tossers‘ (Leicester Square and E4 Udderbelly, Edinburgh). Billed as juggling’s answer to 'Stomp', the show received 5 star reviews at the Edinburgh Festival.

In 2006 Jago also became a core member of the international award-winning fire troupe FlameOz and with his new company 'Jago JA' both created and now currently performs in the acts ‘Calvos Contact Jugglers’ and the ‘Halo Glow Show’.

With these acts in recent years he has performed in over 30 countries across Europe and the Middle East. His acts have travelled as far as Shanghai, Australia, Canada and Barbados and he has performed at events such as London 2012 Paralympic Closing Ceremony, The Commonwealth Games, Edinburgh and Glastonbury Festivals and the European Juggling Convention. Jago puts great value on performing on the UK and European Outdoor Arts Festival circuit and in taking his work to diverse and under-served communities.
